Our intrepid team of explorers on our Japan expedition witnessed the “Dark Side of Sapporo” during their visit to the 66th annual Sapporo Snow Festival. Ahead of the impending release of the much-anticipated film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the celebrated snow festival unveiled a gigantic snow statue of the iconic villain, Darth Vader, flanked by Storm Troopers and the dreaded Death Star. Other sculptures included a replica of Xingtian Temple in Taipei City, The Manila Cathedral, Disney’s ‘Frozen’ characters and much more. It was a fun two-day finale to a successful Apex Expeditions’ Japan’s Winter Wildlife tour.
